I got a book deal!

I am approximately this excited.

I am approximately this excited.

Movie Title Typos is going to a be a book! Chronicle Books is publishing it. If all goes according to plan, you'll see it on store shelves this fall. Whoo!

If you know anything about book publishing, you might be thinking, "This fall? Man, that's a pretty tight publication schedule." You would not be wrong.

I'll be pulling an all-monther (like an all-nighter, except you do it for a month...then you probably die) to get this thing wrapped up. So if my activity online drops a bit, it's because I'm working. Really hard.

This book is going to be great though. I'm really excited about it. I can't wait to share more. And I will...as soon as I finish it. I've got a lot of really cool stuff planned leading up to release.

Till then, I'll see you around the Internet.

Movie Title Typo stuff

Hello,

It’s me, Austin, the guy who drew those movie title typos. You might have found your way here from Reddit, or from a form you filled out expressing interest in purchasing some of my art in print and/or t-shirt form.

I’ll try to keep this brief:

First, THANK YOU! I had no idea the response would be this huge, or that people would want to hang up or wear my goofy drawings. The kind words and support mean so much to me. I'll do my best to get the merchandise people want up soon, at a reasonable price of course.

When will I know when shirts or prints are available?

I don’t want to spam anyone, so if you want to follow me on Twitter @austindlight, or check this page every couple days, I’ll be posting when prints and shirts of each movie title typo become available.

Where can I buy stuff?

Right now, all merchandise will be available through my Society6 page. They make high quality stuff. I get a small cut of the merch sold through them. I might explore other vendors in the future, but to keep things simple and save time, I’m focusing on them first.

Are you adding color?

Maybe. There will be some slight changes (for the better!) to some of the pictures as I redraw them digitally.

What about my commission?

If you requested a commission, I’ll try to get back to you individually soon. Picture 31 is my real life (being a father of two is kinda time consuming), so if I can’t get to yours in time, I’m sorry.

Thanks again for your interest and support. Feel free to reach out on Twitter or via the comments below with any questions.

This is my design

A few weeks ago a friend recommended the NBC show Hannibal to me, knowing my love of well-realized characters, and creepy stories that leave you feeling a bit unsettled (as opposed to outright scared). I binged both seasons about as fast as a working father of two can. As is usually the case when some piece of media gets in my brain, the only way to get it out was to draw it. So I made some posters.

If you haven't seen the show, the first season is available to stream on Amazon Prime. It's absurdly gory for a show on a major network--I found myself looking away every few episodes (I'm a bit squeamish when it comes to dismemberment). But the crazy psycho-analysis, visual metaphors, superb acting, and constant winding tension had me hooked.

I might be putting up these posters on my Society6 page for sale soon if you'd like one.
